GCD 2009-360-1.jpgCalling all beachbound foodies: Some of the city's most celebrated chefs will be on hand to celebrate the 2010 Great Chefs Dinner this Sunday, August 8th in Bridgehampton, New York.   The evening will begin at 5 pm with a cocktail party where Craft's Tom Colicchio, Surf Lodge's Sam Talbot, Lure's Josh Capon,  Nick & Toni's Joseph Realmuto will be serving hors d'oeuvres.  At 7pm, there will be a more formal, sit-down dinner prepared by such luminaries as Le Bernardin's Eric Ripert, Laurent Tourondel & Marc Meyer.   All proceeds will benefit Hayground School's Jeff's Kitchen and the Jeff Salaway Scholarship Fund.

R hungry_in_america.jpgThis Sunday, February 21st, Tom Colicchio & Natalie Portman will co-host a fundraiser for The Hungry In America Project, which documents the immense poverty in our own backyard.  Filmmakers, Lori Silverbush and Kristi Jacobson, have set out to expose the prevalence of hunger across America.  FEED USA joins Vanity Fair to raise funds for The Hungry in America Project, FEED'S first American initiative.  The event takes place this Sunday at Colicchio & Sons, located at 85 Tenth Avenue, from 6-9 pm.

ccapinviteforweb.gifThere are many wonderful causes, but this one is close to my heart.  C-CAP awards scholarships to talented, underprivileged students to attend culinary school.  On February 24th, C-CAP will be celebrating its 20th Anniversary at Pier 60 in Chelsea.  This year's benefit will honor chef Marcus Samuelsson for his contributions and dedication to C-CAP.    Dan Barber, MIchael White, Dominique Ansel, Alfred Portale, and Bill Telepan, along with many other chefs, will be serving up their culinary creations.

This Sunday, August 9th, chefs from the East End of Long Island, will be cooking in honor of Jeff Salaway and the Jeff Salaway Foundation.  Toni Ross of Nick & Toni's and Jon Snow of Hayground camp will be hosting the all-night affair of cocktails, a silent auction, and a seated dinner prepared by Eric Ripert and Nick & Toni's Joseph Realmuto among others, like Miche Bacher of Sacred Sweets and produce from the Hayground School's Slow Food Greenhouse.

Suehdsht1.jpgThis Monday, June 22nd at 7 p.m., Chef Sue Torres of Suenos restaurant will be hosting a dinner and auction to benefit the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.  Dinner will include a gourmet taco station, Suenos margaritas and wine by the glass, and passed hors d'oeurves such as coconut-habanero salmon tartar with green plantain chips.  Auctioned items will include a private cooking class for 12 taught by Sue Torres, and other gifts from Stanton Social, ICE, and the Liquid Chef, among others.

Tickets are $75, and all checks must be made payable to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.  Reserve in advance by emailing info@suenosnyc.com or pay at the door. Credit cards will not be accepted.
