Where to Celebrate the Fourth of July 2016 in NYC

732352_630x354Memorial Day may be the unofficial kick-off of summer, but there’s no question that the Fourth of July is the party of the season.  So bless America and celebrate your freedom with food, fun and fireworks, at Independence Day blowouts throughout New York!

thedutchThe Dutch: The Dutch plans to transform their entire, regular menu for their annual Fourth of July luau, to include Spam Musubi, Teriyaki Chicken Wings, Bluefin Tuna Poke, Pig Plates with mac salad and lomi tomato, Halo Halo, Loco Moco Burgers, topped with cheese omelets, and much, much (much) more.  We’re talking cocktails like the “Rangoon Rugburn,” comprised of campari, orange juice and hibiscus grenadine, plus games such as putt putt golf and corn hole and fun extras like a cotton candy machine!

saxonSaxon + Parole: Taking place from 2 to 7pm, Saxon + Parole‘s All-American Independence Day Extravaganza includes tons of food (Brad Farmerie intends to roast a whole hog, and serve pulled pork sliders, summer salads, backyard burgers and all kinds of pies), as well as plenty of booze (think spiked popsicles, beer slushies and watermelon spritz’s), all accompanied by entertainment, in the form of Twister, a beer pong tourney, and Saxon-themed prizes.

Fornino: Taking full advantage of their prime location at Pier 6 in Brooklyn Bridge Park (with a waterfront view of the East River fireworks), Fornino is throwing a ticketed Independence Day party, featuring an unlimited open bar
from 7:30-10:30pm, and an impressive, Italian buffet of salads, all-you-can-eat Neapolitan pizza and desserts.

photoBrooklyn Grange: Brooklyn Grange farms rooftops, builds green spaces, and promotes sustainable living and local ecology through educational events — which includes killer Independence Day parties at both of their NYC locations. Unfortunately, the Brooklyn Navy Yard bash is already sold out, but you can still snag tickets to their awesome Rooftop Gala in Long Island City, including a tasty spread of hot dogs, baked beans, corn and apple cake, along with craft suds from their onsite nano-brewery, Big Alice Brewing, and beats courtesy of DJ Mickey Perez.

Maison Premiere - Brooklyn, NY

Maison Premiere: You may have to walk down a few avenues to get to the fireworks, but since they open at noon, Williamsburg’s sultry Maison Premiere is a perfect place to spend Fourth of July day; enjoying live music and chef’s specials in the lush and leafy backyard, along with all-American juleps, organic and biodynamic wine, and one of the best raw oyster selections in the city.

000581476_land_lMr. Purple:  Why not lounge poolside at the Gerber Group’s hot new destination, located high about the Hotel Indigo, and boasting 375-degree views of the city?  Not that anything more than ultimate access to the fireworks is required, but the Fourth of July Rooftop Party will also feature frozen margaritas, New York-Style hot dogs and buckets of Budweiser and Bud Light.
